Contracts will support transportation engineering, civil engineering design, construction inspection, drafting, and surveying. (Legistar)
- From the agenda summary: “Many of the activities provided or managed by the City’s Engineering Unit are directly impacted by the intensity of construction activities, the condition of the City’s infrastructure, private development in the area, and many other variables.”
- The resolution approving these contracts includes explanation that “costs for work on private development projects will be recouped through fees charged to developers.”
APPROVED: The City will allocate $500,000 in federal grant money plus $500,000 in City matching funds to support the replacement of a refrigeration unit and other improvements related to ADA compliance at the outdoor Buhr Park Ice Arena. The total cost of the project is expected to be between $1,665,000 and $2,350,000 (Legistar)
APPROVED: After the dissolution of the Energy Commission and the Environmental Commission, a staff-led “Sustainability Commission” has been established. This resolution appoints Council Member Jon Mallek and Jenn Cornell to be liaisons to the Sustainability Commission. Before they were dissolved, Council Members Erica Briggs and Jon Mallek were liaisons to the Energy commission and Council Members Jenn Cornell and Jon Mallek were liaisons to the Environmental commission. A new fee is established for a “special exception use with development.” (Legistar)
