APPROVED: Staff recommendations for amendments to chapter 55 of the Unified Development Code (UDC) to emphasize multimodal transit. Changes are proposed for “Transportation Impact Analyses Requirements and Review Criteria” (Sections 5.29.8 and 5.29.6), “Required Plan Information” (Section 5.29.8), and “Criteria for Review of a Traffic Impact Analysis” (Section 5.29.6.E). This item was postponed to the December 19, 2023 meeting. (Legistar)

  • From the staff report (link) “An error in the notice for a public hearing to be held by the City Planning Commission on December 5, 2023 for amendments to the Unified Development Code related to transportation impact analyses was discovered after publishing and after a Planning Staff Report was prepared. The public hearing was held and closed while a correct notice was published for a new public hearing to be held on December 19, 2023. No changes to the proposed amendments have been made. Please refer to the December 5, 2023 Planning Staff Report including December 5, 2023 Draft Ordinance for a description, report and analysis of the proposed amendments.”
  • Changes include updating references to the “2010 Institute of Transportation Engineers’ Transportation Impact Analyses for Site Development” to the “2023 Institute of Transportation Engineers’ Multimodal Transportation Impact Analyses for Site Development, or the latest revision thereof.”

APPROVED: Site plan for a 16 story residential building at 333 E William Street from developer Core Spaces. The new building will have 202 units with 645 bedrooms, replacing the existing University of Michigan Credit Union building. (Legistar)
